A woman has slammed a shopping centre after learning that CCTV was recording in a public bathroom which has baby changing facilities.
Amy Mitchell, 24, from West Lothian urged other parents to 'boycott' the lavatories at Livingston Designer Outlet, which are beside a Vue cinema - adding there is 'no excuse to stick a camera in any toilet especially one where children are'.
The mother-of-one took to Facebook to share a photo of a poster up on the mirror, which warned that 'images are being monitored for the purposes of maintaining the security of premises, the prevention and investigation of crime and in the interest of good estate management'.
'They think it's acceptable to stick CCTV in the BABY CHANGE,' she wrote in the accompanying post.
'Spoke to the deputy manager who informed me they don't face the toilets only the inside of the door to monitor who's going in and out - if that's the case put a camera outside the toilet?!

'Btw the CCTV notice isn't even on the outside of the door, you're only informed by this piece of paper once you're actually in there.
'There's no excuse to stick a camera in any toilet especially one where children are!'
Amy, who has a three-year-old son, told Edinburgh Live that she felt 'disgusted' and 'violated' with the situation.
'I took my little boy into the changing facility and it wasn't until after I had left that I saw the CCTV notice and camera,' she said.
'I contacted the designer outlet's customer service, and the lady put me through to the deputy manager.'
It is understood that management's reason for the cameras is to monitor and deter 'antisocial behaviour by teenagers who have been wrecking the baby change facilities and attacking the outlet staff'.
Amy also said that she suggested a camera outside the toilets, or even a key, could work better - but was apparently told it was a 'a very 1920's thing to do'.
The mother also claimed that there is also a mirror on the back of the door - which the camera points to - that you can 'more than likely' see a reflection of the baby change facilities on.

Amy's outraged social media post has racked up more than 1,400 comments and 636 likes on Facebook
A spokesperson for the shopping centre told Edinburgh Live that they would be 'reviewing their policy following complaints made by members of the public'.
'We are aware of concerns raised regarding the location of CCTV installations within the centre,' they told the outlet.
'We are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all our visitors and staff and are reviewing any concerns raised regarding the use of CCTV.'
MailOnline has also reached out to Livingston Designer Outlet for comment.

While some in the comments defended the choice, claiming there was a problem with people vandalising the facilities, most were 'shocked' by the decision.
'I was actually using this toilet with my niece the other day and didn't notice the sign until I was walking out and had no idea what to even do, thinking they have basically got a video of me and two year old niece doing the toilet' one shared.
'World's a dangerous place,' another added. 'So so scared for our babies to grow up in this world.'
'Some places have keys you need to request,' a third suggested. 'That seems more appropriate than a camera inside the toilet...'
